Cyclone Yasi crossed Queensland's coast at Mission Beach about midnight (AEST) on Wednesday
as a category five cyclone.



Highest official recorded wind gust: Lucinda Point 185km/h 11.27pm Wednesday

Highest unconfirmed recorded wind gust (by BoM observers): 220km/h Tully and Innisfail.

BoM highest estimated wind gust 290km/h



Crime:

There have been 11 cases of reported looting including a smash and grab on a Cairns chemist.
