VIC: House fire in Melbourne s north
A mother and her two children have had a lucky escape from a burning house in Melbourne's
northern suburbs.
Police say the 26-year-old woman and her children, aged one and five, were alerted
to the fire in their home in Lorraine Crescent, Jacana, by smoke detectors just before
2.30am.
The fire brigade says the blaze destroyed the lounge room, bedroom, hallway, roof timbers
and much of the contents.
Police say the fire is being treated as suspicious.
