NSW: Body of missing swimmer found

SYDNEY, Feb 18 AAP - The body of a man who went missing in the Murrumbidgee River yesterday
in the NSW south west has been recovered.

Tony Davidson, 38, from Yanco, was last seen swimming in the river with family and
friends at nearby Horn Beach about 3.30pm (AEDT) yesterday, police said.

Mr Davidson did not resurface after diving underwater, prompting a search of the river
and the surrounding area which continued early this morning.

"At about 8.30am (AEDT) today police located Mr Davidson's body beneath the water a
short distance downstream from where he was last seen," a police statement said.

A post mortem examination will be conducted and a report prepared for the coroner.
